The transmission of call detail records in all Swisscom switches is performed and monitored with AMIRA.
Swisscom routes the call detail records (CDR) from all public switches through decentralised protocol converters and the IP core network to the central mediator systems. The data flow is controlled and monitored by a redundant AMIRA central unit.
Previously, CDR from the Swisscom switches were transmitted via the FTAM/X.25 protocol using 64 bit ISDN lines for clearing. Now these data are sent in encrypted form via the IP core network. This became possible with the autonomous protocol converters of Aartesys, which convert the FTAM/X.25 data directly at the switch to SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) and send them to a central SFTP server for further processing. The protocol converters and the data transfer are parameterised, controlled and monitored by a central, redundant AMIRA system. This structure and the flexibility of the Aartesys protocol converters and the AMIRA system make it possible to continue operating the interfaces at the switches without any expensive changes while the data are transmitted via a state-of-the-art protocol that complies with the security requirements and that can easily be integrated into new mediator systems.
