LMS IP Probe

VoIP monitoring

The LMS IP Probe is a robust device, suited for industrial use and contained in a 19" rack with 220 V power supply. These devices, which are distributed in the field, are connected via LAN (Ethernet) with the central AMIRA Management System. The communication is based on standard Internet protocols.

The LMS IP Probe is equipped for local operation with a Web server, which can be called via the LAN or WAN connection.

The basic configuration of the LMS Probe has two Fast_Ethernet inputs for bidirectional monitoring of a Fast-Ethernet interface as well as a 10/100 MHz Ethernet connection for communication.

Optionally, additional monitoring interfaces can be installed.

Monitoring function

After installation, the incoming and outgoing VoIP traffic is analysed and the signalling data are recorded. If a call is detected, a CDR is created and continuously updated. A the end of the call, a CDR with the following content is locally saved:

  • Date and time of seizure
  • Duration of seizure
  • Calling and called party number
  • Connection direction (incoming/outgoing)
  • Call setup delay
  • Call duration
  • Call result (busy, free, successful, faulty)
  • Call release information (releasing part, fault analysis)
  • Call release delay

The CDR data are locally saved and periodically transmitted to the AMIRA Management System.

Supported VoIP protocols

The LMS IP Probe supports monitoring of SIP and H.323 VoIP calls. Optionally, other protocols can also be supported.
