Active, manual service test functions
AMIRA based service test system of Aartesys, supports the operator of telecommunication networks in the provision of various areas of service fulfilments (provisioning) and service assurance.
The trusted and widely used test functions based on ISDN and POSTS are also available as VoIP-based service tests.
Help desk and service assurance
Intelligent answering functions simplify and standardise the procedure for the commissioning and the performance of functional tests for line interfaces and/or end user devices such as telephones, fax, PBX or integrated end devices.
Using manual test calls
The manual test calls are used for fast analyses of a fault state in the network or of a customer connection:
- Determining fault locations and fault states, using generated test calls and interpretation of the network reply
- Functional testing of connections with end devices from a central point
- Functional testing of network services
- Functional testing of network transition points
All test calls are logged by the system and are centrally stored.

Benefits of the manual test calls
The way the test calls work and the fact that the client application can easily be adapted to existing systems make this function an ideal tool for fault triage in the help desk area.
- Faster fault analysis for delimiting the fault location and the measures to be taken
- Simple user interface with interpreted reply of the system
- Prevents ping-pong effect between service units
Provisioning test
Analysis of faults in a communication network using manually controlled, outgoing test calls provides a fast and cost-efficient solution for fault detection in case of failure.
Use of reply functions
The intelligent reply functions are easy-to-use, always operational test functions for the following purposes:
- Verification for the initial operation of connections by the customer
- Functional testing of connections by the customer
- Verification for the initial operation of end devices
- Functional testing of end devices and software installations for IP communication
- Setting and parametrising of end devices and applications
- Functional testing of additional services
All calls to the answering functions and call-backs are logged by the system and centrally stored.

Benefit of the reply functions
The reply functions were designed to ensure that their use requires little prior knowledge. The functions can be used by experts or directly by end users, e.g. to perform initial functional tests or to complete the initial operation.
Additional uses of the reply functions:
- Requires no special test devices on site, uses the current equipment
- Reply functions are available at all times
- The end user has access to a test method with clear validity
- The reply functions simplify the initial operation and repair processes; their integration leads to higher test quality and test standardisation
- The recording options of the system make it possible to generate initial operation certificates in an automated manner
- A history can be generated for tested connections
