Logging of the relevant parameters
The LMS Probe monitors the connected lines and logs line results and Layer 2 protocol data. The EDSS-1 protocol with all additional services is supported by default.
Layer 1 line signal as well as Layer 3 events are marked with a time signal and stored in non-volatile memory. All Layer 1 events as well as the Layer 2 criteria ’CRC fault’, ’Layer 2 not active’ and ’Layer 2 restart’ can be activated as alarm criteria, so that their occurrence triggers an alarm in the higher-level management system.
Depending on their priority and importance, the line events transmitted are stored by the AMIRA Management System in the central database, shown in a special alarm viewer, transferred to as higher-level alarm system or externally forwarded e.g. via SMS.
Evaluation of the SLA parameters
The Layer 1 and 2 events are combined by the management system in accordance with the parameter "Line availability" according to ITU-T G.826 / M.2100. This parameter is used for SLA verification or documentation and for proof of line performance.
This parameter as well as other important information is presented in a simple SLA report and can either be published online or stored as a document.
